Lockdown

Lockdown

Rwanda went into strict lockdown immediately their first case of Covid-19 was confirmed last month. It’s a landlocked, low income country – 40% of the population lives well below the poverty line. With inter country travel banned and borders closed the impact on food supply is harsh.

Vulnerable families already nutritionally compromised through poverty are suffering badly because of the food shortages.
With help from Gasiwiga in Gisenyi and Viateur in Kigali, PF funds are distributing food packs to many of the needy families we’ve been alerted to who are struggling during these uncertain times.

So many charities are reeling from the drying up of donations caused by the pandemic and PF are humbled by the continued compassion of our donors who are helping make a very real difference.
